Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ShieldFox scanning, safety, and DMCA tools.

What is ShieldFox?

ShieldFox scans Steam Workshop, ripper sites, and other platforms for stolen or duplicated versions of your 3D models. It helps you identify leaks and provides tools to take them down.

How does the scanning work?

You upload your model. We securely convert it to GLB and compare it across supported platforms. If possible leaks are found, you receive a report and DMCA templates.

Which platforms do you scan?

Currently supported platforms include Steam Workshop, common VRChat ripping sites, and additional 3D sharing portals. More platforms are added regularly.

Do you download stolen models?

No. ShieldFox never downloads, stores, or redistributes any stolen files. Only public metadata and visual comparisons are used for detection.

Is my uploaded model safe?

Yes. Your file is processed securely, never shared, and automatically deleted after analysis. Nothing is used for AI training or third-party datasets.

Are VRChat avatars and 3D meshes copyrighted?

Yes. In ShieldFox, the term '3D mesh' refers specifically to creator-made VRChat avatars and custom 3D models. These are treated as artistic works and are protected under U.S. copyright law (17 U.S.C. §102) and Swedish/EU law (1960:729, 1 § & 4 §). Because they contain creative and expressive choices, they qualify for copyright protection.
